Community established first in 1965 in small hall rented from Unitarian Church. Other property purchased in 1976 and 1980 to allow conversion to attractive gurdwara. The Takht has two domes instead of the usualsingle dome because it was designed for a small space originally. Worship is between 11 am and 2 pm on Sundays.
The Birmingham Nanaksar Gurdwara was in the past an old Methodist church. It was converted to its present state back in 1981 and a much needed extension was done in 1991 due to a huge increase in Sangat.
