Mata Gujri Ji was born to Father Bhai Lal Chand Ji and Mother Biahan Devi Ji at this place. Mata Gujri Ji used to reside here. At this place Mata Gujri Ji was married to Ninth Sikh Guru, Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji in 1633.
Mata Gujri Ji was the Mother of Tenth Sikh Guru, Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. Mata Gujri Ji is one such lady in the world whose husband won martyrdom, son won martyrdom, four grandsons won martyrdom, five grandsons (on her side) won martyrdom and she herself won martyrdom.
Gurudwara Sri Niwas ate Vivaah Asthaan Mata Gujri ji is situated in the middle of town Kartarpur Sahib in Jalandhar district. Mata Gujri ji was born to Bhai Lal chand ji and Bishan Devi ji at Village Lakhnaur in ambala district. Mata ji's father shifted to Kartarpur Sahib and this place was Mata ji's house. Later Mata Gujri was married to Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur ji at this place. This Gurudwara Sahib is situated near to Gurudwara Sri Tham ji Sahib.
At the end of Rabablarivali Lane marks the house where Bhai Lal Chand Subhikkhi, father of Mata Gujari, stayed and where Mata Gujari's marriage with Guru Tegh Bahadar was solemnized on 4th February 1633. The five storey Gurdwara was built during the 1980's under the supervision of Baba Uttam Singh of Khadoor Sahib. The sanctum is at the far end of a rectangular hall on the ground floor. A separate building to the north of the hall houses a library.
Other historical monuments at Kartarpur are the samddhi of Bibi Kaulari; Nanakiana Sahib, a Gurdwara commemorating Mata Nanaki, the mother of Guru Tegh Bahadur; Damdama Sahib, a platform dedicated to Guru Hargobind; and Dera Bhai Bhagatu Ji marking the site where Bhai Bhagatu, a prominent Sikh contemporary of the Fifth, Sixth and the Seventh Gurus, was cremated in 1652 by Guru Har Rai Sahib Ji.
