When Sri Guru HarGobind Sahib ji came to Bhai Rupa (district Bathinda) rai jodh ji requested Guru Sahib to visit his home. Bhai Bidhi chand ji brought second horse from lahore to this place. Under guidance of Guru Sahib Rai Jodh ji fought the battle of mehraj and with lala beg and Kamar beg. Rai jodh ji killed Kamar beg and Guru Sahib killed lala beg. Guru Sahib gave rai jodh ji a katar (a sort of dager), which is still preserved with rai jodh ji's family. Rai Jodh ji's family house where katar is preserved is situated on the back side of Gurudwara Sahib.
Bhai Rai Jodh was the great grandson of Baba Mehar Mitha. When Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji was at village Bhai Rupa (about 9 km's away), Bhai Rai Jodh invited Guru Ji to visit Kangar.
Bhai Rai Jodh brought Guru Hargobind back to his home which was a small fort in the village. This was the location that Bhai Bidhi Chand brought Guru Hargobind's second horse (which the mughals originally stole).
Kangar was the site where Bhai Bidhi Chand informed Guru Hargobind that the mughals were going to try and kill them all. Guru Hargobind started making plans for a defense which resulted in the 1631 Battle of Gurusar.
The Battle of Gurusar was the third battle fought by Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji near Mehraj with Lala Beg and Qamar Beg in 1631. Despite overwhelming odds, the mughals were completely crushed in this battle.
The mughals had a 35,000 strong army while Guru Hargobind's side only numbered 4,000. The battle was fought during winter season and Guru Ji had pre-planned everything. Because the mughals were not fully acquainted to the conditions of the area they had not planned well for the battle.
