Gurudwara Sri Amb Sahib, Bharowal
Gurudwara Sri Amb Sahib, Bharowal Sahib is situated in the Bhairowal Village of Tarn Taran district. When emperor Akbar came to Lahore, the khatris & brahmins went to him & complained that Guru AmarDas ji at Goindwal Sahib has started a new religion by giving up the old scriptures & customs. He doesn't even know that the great hymn from hindu scriptures is gayatri & niether does he recite the same. He has made his own religious scripture & recites that only. He has created a danger to the hindu religion. On listening to their complaint, akbar said that they need not worry as he will speak to Guru ji & get them justice. After this akbar sent a message to Guru ji stating that the khatris & brahmins are complaining against him & he should come to lahore & give an answer to their complaints. On hearing akbar's message, Sri Guru AmarDas ji asked Bhai jetha ji (Sri Guru ramDas ji) to go to lahore. On listening Guru ji's order, Bhai jetha ji requested that he had not studied any shastras so how would he give answers to the questions asked in the meeting. On listening to his request Guru ji, with his kindness, said that he need not worry. In the court of the emperor, whenever someone asks you a question, you start thinking about me & look towards your right arm. You will get the knowledge about all the veDas & shastras & you would be able to answer any question without any difficulty. On hearing this & after getting Guru ji's blessings, Bhai jetha ji started his journey to lahore. At night, he took rest at his house in choona mandi lahore & the next morning, after offering prayers, he went to the emperor's court. In the court, in presence of akbar, he gave an answer to the complaints of khatris & brahmins regarding gayatri, in a very peaceful manner. Before giving an answer to the complaint, Bhai jetha ji recalled the words told to him by Guru ji & while looking towards his right arm, he recited the gayatri prayers & then also explained there meaning. After hearing the meanings with vocals, everyone & even the complainants were amazed & were not able to ask any question. After listening to meaning filled answer given by Bhai jetha ji, the emperor got very happy & pointed the complainants as liers & while commenting Sri Guru AmarDas ji as heavenly figure, presented a robe of honour to Bhai jetha ji before bidding him farewell respectfully. After getting respect from the court, when Bhai jetha ji was passing through the market, he saw a very beautiful & expensive cloth at one of the shops & started to think that he should get a gown sewn for Guru ji out of this cloth. But due to less money, Bhai ji got the cloth purchased & gown sewn for Guru ji in his desires only. On the other hand, Guru AmarDas ji while sitting in the royal court at Sri Goindwal Sahib, was moving his arms over his chest in order to remove wrinkles from the gown. When Bhai ballu ji inquired about that maharaj, why are you doing so ? Guru ji replied that Bhai jetha ji got him a gown sewn from lahore & he was getting him to wear it.
The next day when Bhai jetha ji started from lahore to Goindwal Sahib, he saw unseasonal mango's being sold in the market. Looking at the beauty of unseasonal mango's, Bhai ji thought that this beautiful gift from lahore should be taken for Guru ji. After this thought, Bhai ji bought a mango for one rupee & started towards Goindwal Sahib. After spending a night on the way, he reached Village Bhairowal ( now known as Bhairowal Sahib) near Goindwal Sahib. After taking rest at Bhairowal Village, when Bhai ji started his journey again, but he noticed that the juice started flowing from the mango & the mango might not reach Guru ji. Bhai jetha ji started to think about Guru AmarDas ji & said " hey god, this unseasonal mango was bought for you but due to the hot weather, this fruit has started dripping. Kindly accept it & eat it & fulfill my desire". Like this, after offering prayers, Bhai jetha ji started to eat the mango at Bhairowal only. At the other end, Guru AmarDas ji was eating the mango & enjoying it at Goindwal Sahib. After eating the mango, Guru ji asked Bhai billu to keep the seed in the window. When Bhai jetha ji came and told Guru ji about the whole story which happened with akbar, he was very pleased to know about it. Then Guru ji asked that what had he brought from lahore city for him to which Bhai jetha ji replied with folded hands " you are divine, what can i say? I had bought a beautiful piece of cloth for you & got it stiched for your in my heart only & i also bought a unseasonal mango which started dripping due to heat & i ate it by remembering you at Bhairowal." Guru ji after listening to this desire & story said that he had eaten the sweet & beautiful fruit that he had brought for him & has kept the seed. Then Bhai ballu ji brought the seed from the window & showed it to Bhai jetha ji (Sri Guru ramDas ji). After hearing & looking at this miracle, the sikh followers were amazed & said that Sri Guru AmarDas ji is follows love. He looks towards the person's love & not his name.

He had no children. He served Guru ji & his followers with a great zeal. Pleased with his service, Guru ji asked him his wish to which he said that he wanted a son. Guru ji gave a boon to Bhai Khema for a son & respectfully started his journey from Bhairowal to Khadoor Sahib. Like this, at the age of 70, the sikh follower Bhai Khema ji was blessed with a son as a result of boon given by Sri Guru Angad Dev ji.
This Gurdwara is situated at a distance of about 4 Km from Goindwal Sahib City in Village Bhairowal. This Gurdwara is in the memory of Third Sikh Guru, Shri Guru Amar Das Ji and Fourth Sikh Guru, Shri Guru Ram Das Ji.
When Mughal Emperor Akbar visited Lahore, the Brahmins went to him with a complaint that Guru Amar Das Ji at Goindwal Sahib has given up all the old customs and has started a new religion of Sikhism and that he dose not recite 'Gayatri Mantra'. Emperor Akbar said that he would talk to Guru Ji and do the justice. The Emperor sent a message to Guru Ji to come to Lahore and give an answer to the complaints of the Brahmins. On receiving message, Guru Amar Das Ji asked his devotee Bhai Jetha Ji (who was later on installed as Fourth Sikh Guru and was named Guru Ram Das Ji) to go to Lahore. Bhai Jetha Ji said that he has no knowledge of Shastras, hence he will not be able to give answer to the questions asked at Lahore. Guru Amar Das Ji told Bhai Jetha Ji that whenever a question is put to you, start thinking about me and look towards your right arm, you will get complete knowledge of the Shastras and would be able to answer any question. Guru Ji blessed Bhai Jetha Ji and Bhai Ji set out for his journey towards Lahore.
Bhai Jetha Ji went to his house at Lahore and took rest for the Night and the Next day after offering Prayers, he went to Akbar's Court. In the Court, Bhai Jetha Ji remembered Guru Amar Das Ji and looked towards his right arm and then recited Gayatri Mantra with its meaning. After hearing this, no one could ask any question and the Emperor declared the complainants as liars. Emperor Said that Guru Amar Das Ji is 'Khudaa Ka Noor' (a Heavenly Figure) and presented a robe of honour to Bhai Jetha Ji and bade him farewell. Bhai Jetha Ji came out of Emperor's Court and saw a beautiful, but expensive cloth at a shop in the market. He thought that a Gown should be sewn for Guru Amar Das Ji out of this cloth, but he did not have the required money. He got the cloth purchased and the Gown sewn for Guru Ji in his desires only. At Goindwal Sahib, Guru Ji moved his arms over his chest to remove wrinkles from the Gown. When a devotee named Bhai Ballu Ji asked about it, Guru Ji replied that Bhai Jetha Ji got him a Gown sewn from Lahore and he was getting him to wear it.
Next day when Bahi Jetha Ji started his journey towards Goindwal Sahib, he saw unseasonal Mangoes in the market. He purchased one Mango for Rupees One as a gift for Guru Amar Das Ji and set out for Goindwal Sahib. He spent a night on the way and reached Village Bhairowal, took some rest and started his journey again. He noticed that the Juice has started to flow out of the Mango. Bhai Jetha Ji thought about Guru Ji and said that this Mango was purchased for you, but due to hot weather it could not reach to you, kindly accept it, eat it and fulfill my desire. Thereafter, Bhai Jetha Ji ate that Mango at Village Bhairowal (Gurdwara Shri Amb Sahib is situated at that very place where Bhai Jetha Ji ate the Mango while remembering Guru Amar Das Ji) and Guru Amar Das Ji was eating and enjoying the Mango at Goindwal Sahib. Guru Ji asked Bhai Ballu Ji to keep the seed of the Mango in the window.
Bhai Jetha Ji on reaching Goindwal Sahib told the whole story of Emperor Akbar's Court. Guru Ji was very pleased and asked Jetha Ji what had he brought from Lahore for him? Bhai Jetha Ji replied you know everything. Then Guru Amar Das Ji asked Bhai Ballu Ji to bring the seed of the Mango from the window and said that he had ate the Mango. The Mango seed was shown to Bhai Jetha Ji. Then Sikh devotees said that Guru Ji looks only towards the Person's love and affection.
