In the early 1900s, there were a few Sikhs in the Bentong area who worked as Police constables, security guards, dairy farmers and general labourers. In 1909 these Sikhs built a Gurdwara Sahib on a piece of land approximately 64 feet by 110 feet in size.
In early 1968 the Gurdwara Sahib building v, as extensively repaired and renovated. The Government donated RM25,000.00 towards the cost of the renovations. There are three rooms in this Gurdwara Sahib to cater for Sikh visitors.
This Gurdwara Sahib has a Sikh Assistant Registrar of Marriages who officiates at Sikh marriage ceremonies when called upon to do so. The actual marriage ceremony is performed by the Granthi in accordance with Sikh rites.
There are currently about 35 Sikh students who attend Gurmukhi classes twice a week in this Gurdwara Sahib.
The current trustees of this Gurdwara Sahib are Sardar Puran Singh, Sardar Harbhajan Singh and Sardar Inder Singh.
Presently there are about 50 Sikh families who participate in the religious activities in this Gurdwara Sahib. The normal weekly prayers are held on Sundays at 10.00 a.m. The Isteri Satsang programmes are held on Wednesday afternoons. Other religious programmes are held as and when necessary at the request of the sangat
