This Gurdwara is situated at a distance of 32 Km from Batala and 40 Km from Gurdaspur City in the town of Shri Hargobindpur.
This town was founded by Fifth Sikh Guru, Shri Guru Arjun Dev Ji in 1587 and named Shri Hargobindpur after the name of his son. Guru Arjun Dev Ji made a place where Gurbani was taught to students, at that place now Gurdwara Granthia Di Dharamshala is situated.Baba Budha Ji and Bhai Gurdas Ji also came here to meet with Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji. After Guru Ji left Sri Hargobindpur, the gurmat literature continued to be written at the Gurdwara. Gurdwara Granthi's were given training and made ready to help sangats all over Punjab. Maharaja Ranjit Singh donated the jageer for this gurdwara which was from Jalalpur Jattan.
