The District of Moga is situated in Punjab State of Northwestern India. It is 2216 Sq. Km. in area. It is surrounded by District Jalandhar in North, District Ludhiana in East, District Sangrur in South and Districts Faridkot and Ferozepur in the West. The City of Moga which lies on Ferozepur-Ludhiana Road is the headquarter of this District.
This District came into existence on 24 November, 1995. Earlier it was a Subdivision of Faridkot District. The area of Dharamkot with 150 Villages was merged with this District on 5 November,1999. Most people of this District are agriculturists. It produces highest quantity of Wheat and Rice in Punjab. A high-tech milk plant of Nestle lies on the West border of the town.
This District has been divided into 3 Tehsils and 2 Sub-Tehsils -Tehsils – Moga , Bagha Purana , Nihal Singh WalaSub-Tehsils – Badhni Kalan , Dharamkot
